The story of Year is my MA project, a stop motion animation. I adapted the story from a Chinese old folk tale about the Chinese New Year. Different from a typical film, I try to use a series of GIFs to represent a story.
年的故事是我研究生期间的定格动画作品，改编自民间传说关于春节的来历。我运用了区别于一般意义上讲故事的方式，把故事才分成不同的片段，用几个GIF动图来表达内容，这是一次我个人的创新和实验。
As an animator, I attempt to use a different way of storytelling. As a model maker, I use an un-popular material making models. Both are the challenge. For me, GIF as a temporary art attracts me, and I try to build a relationship between storytelling and GIF. In my project, I use a series of GIFs to tell a story, shorter, no dialogue, no clear storyline, no voice-over, just a few seconds GIF to present a story.
作为一个动画师，我尝试运用一个不同的方式来表达故事。作为一个模型师，我只使用纸来制作所以的模型，并让其适用于定格动画创作。这是一次自我的创新和实验，用几个片段性的，循环播放的GIF动图来表达一个故事。动画里没有对话，没有解说，没有明确的时间线，我希望给予观众充分的想象空间，去想象故事的发展，或者只是简单享受这几个动图。
